November - Oświęcim, Poland - The Archbishop with the Chief Rabbi, Sir Jonathan Sacks, invited representatives from all the religious communities to join the Holocaust Educational Trust's Lessons from Auschwitz Project on their one day visit to the former Nazi camps of Auschwitz-Birkenau.
September - Lourdes, France - The Archbishop preached at the International Mass at Lourdes on 24 September as the guest of the Bishop of Tarbes and Lourdes, and joined members of the Society of Mary and the Guardians Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham and other Anglicans pilgrims.
May - Rome, Italy - The Archbishop made a visit to Rome to convene the seventh 'Building Bridges' conference of Christian and Muslim academics, attend the installation of the new Director of the Anglican Centre and make a private visit to His Holiness, Pope Benedict XVI.
