Archbishop of York dedicates and blesses St. Wilfrid's new Parish Hall

The Archbishop was invited to dedicate and bless the hall and was joined at the service by the Venerable Richard Seed, Archdeacon of York, The Reverend Chris Wilton and Councillor Ian Chilvers (chairman of Selby District Council).

The Archbishop had been interviewed earlier on Radio York about the event and he said "I was very pleased that my diary actually could allow me to join in the celebration. This hall is for the whole community and it will be a centre of celebration, a centre of support and a centre of encouragement." 

The hall built in the grounds of St. Wilfrid's has been funded by various grants and fundraising events. The Archbishop praised the congregation for realising their dream with their hard work. Church warden Bill Evans said "It's a 25-year-old dream come true."
