In addition to delivering a Public Lecture at Oxford Brookes University on Wednesday, the Archbishop will lead prayers every morning at the Wesley Memorial Church and deliver an evening address followed by a Question and Answer session each evening at the University Church of St. Mary at 8.15 pm from Tuesday – Thursday and on the final night at the Sheldonian Theatre.

The Mission also features talks and lectures by Baroness Caroline Cox and the Rt Revd Stephen Cottrell, Bishop of Reading, who will both be speaking at St. Aldate's Church.

Speaking on the eve of the mission the Archbishop of York said:

"Mission is what we're all about as Christians. What does the church exist to do ? It lives towards God and towards the world. Towards God it worships: towards the world it preaches the Good News of God in Christ, it brings people into fellowship with God, it infects the world with righteousness, it speaks of divine principles on which the life of humanity is ordered.

"Mission is all about putting God's love where it is absent; bringing hope, renewal and the light of Christ into people's lives.

"The opportunity to be part of this mission is a privilege and with my co-workers in the Gospel I'm looking forward to this week very much."
