Archbishop appeals for life-changing Mercy Ships service

Sunday 24 June 2007

The Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu is appealing on Radio 4 on behalf of Mercy Ships this Sunday 24 June at 7.55am.

Mercy Ships are crewed by doctors, nurses, water engineers and agriculturalists. They visit some of the world's poorest countries providing life-changing services to many who have lost all hope.

The Archbishop will speak about the work that the Mercy Ships provide. He said:

"These dedicated volunteers are today bringing hope and healing to thousands of people, promoting health and well being and serving the forgotten poor. They need our help to provide these life-changing services"
