Monday 12th September 2011

The Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu will today officially open the new Trinity Church of England High School in Hulme, Manchester.

Trinity has moved into brand new accommodation on the same site, with £21.5 million invested into the school and the complete campus development funded by Building Schools for the Future.

Fifty years ago, the Trinity CE High School was established with a mission statement to have ‘faith in the city, value in people, excellence in education’.  The same mission statement applies today.

Dr John Sentamu, the Archbishop of York said: “Trinity has an impressive history, a successful present and an exciting future. It gives me great pleasure to join the pupils, parents and staff to formally open the school today”

During the last three years, the student attendance at Trinity has averaged over 95%, with 68% gaining 5+ GCSE A*-C grades, including English and Mathematics, in 2011.  Trinity has Department of Education Gold awards for sport and the arts.
