Monday 17th February 2014

The Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu is to give a lecture entitled ‘Beyond War and Conflict: Building Communities of Peace and Justice’ as part of the St Wilfrid Lecture series at Ripon Cathedral on 27 February 2014 at 7pm.

The 2014 St Wilfrid Lectures take the 100th anniversary of The First World War as an initial reference point to reflect on what happens beyond war and conflict. All of the 2014 speakers have engaged in aspects of peace-building, conflict resolution or reconciliation transformation.

The annual St Wilfrid lectures, named in honour of Ripon Cathedral’s founder, have been running since 2009. They are now well established as a lively forum for public conversation and theological reflection on the common social, moral and political concerns of the day.

The St Wilfrid Lectures are jointly organised and sponsored by:

York St John University, Ripon Cathedral, the Methodist District of York and Hull and the Diocese of Ripon and Leeds.
