Archbishop to address special conference on ‘Raising Funds for Christian Charities and Churches’

Monday 21st November 2016

The Archbishop of York is to address a special conference on ‘Raising Funds for Christian Charities and Churches’ at Central Hall Westminster on Tuesday 22 November 2016.

The event, which is organised by Stewardship, will provide over 500 church and charity representatives with a unique opportunity to hear leading grant-making funders of Christian causes, Christian philanthropists and experts in raising funds for Christian causes.  Theos is also using the event to unveil new research into Christian funders. Full details are at www.christianfunding.org at which places can still be booked.

The Archbishop, who will be speaking on ‘Joyful Giving’ commented:

‘Joyful and generous giving is at the heart of true discipleship. I am delighted this event is being held to help Christian charities and churches to raise the funds needed to share the love of Christ effectively in Britain and across the world. I look forward to speaking.’

The Revd David Senior, Conference Chair for Stewardship, added: ‘Our vision is to bring together charity and church leaders with the leading Christian funders, high net worth Christian donors and experts in fundraising for Christian causes to enable a step-change in Christian giving.   The effective presentation of the Gospel, social action which shares the love of Christ and work by local churches to engage children and young people all cost money.   This event is designed to help release the funds that are needed and we are honoured to have the Archbishop’s support.’
