WE ARE NESTLING AND BUSKING IN THE LIGHT OF GOD

This Holy Week, I invite you to follow Jesus in the midst of whatever troubles you may face. And remember this.  We are an Easter people and Hallelujah is our song!

This is Holy Week!

We are given a glimpse of what self-sacrifice for the sake of one’s beloved means when we look at the Cross of Jesus.

Holy week is the most solemn week of the Christian year.  On this Palm Sunday Jesus entered into Jerusalem on a donkey and was greeted by crowds as their promised leader.  By Friday, he suffered death, hanging on a cross beside two criminals.  He was abandoned by nearly all of his intimate friends – except his beloved mother, the beloved disciple John, Auntie Mary, Salome and Mary Magdalene.

What Jesus shows us through his death is that God in Jesus Christ loves us so much that he is willing to do for us that which we couldn’t do ourselves.

Rescuing us from sin, death and the power of polluting-evil.  The resurrection of Jesus reminds us that nothing is beyond the power of God’s love to bring lasting transformation.

This Holy Week, I invite you to follow Jesus in the midst of whatever troubles you may face. And remember this.  We are an Easter people and Hallelujah is our song!

Sunday is coming!  Easter is coming.  Behold, God in Jesus Christ is making all things new.  Sing for Joy!  You are New Creation in Christ Jesus!
