Tools with a Mission
Sending tools across the world…
Tools with a Mission (TWAM) is a Christian Charity whose primary goal is to impact on poverty by sending shipments of tools and equipment where it is most needed, to support those who do not have the tools for work to feed themselves and their families.
How TWAM formed…
Tools With a Mission (TWAM ) was established in 1983 in response to a request from workers in Zaire who were unable to purchase tools with which to work. Initially new tools were purchased for this project then the potential for recycling and refurbishing unwanted tools was realised and put into action.
Everything is cleaned and refurbished making them fit for use in Developing Countries around the world. Tools are then made up into “Kits” for tradesmen such as Carpenters, Builders, Electricians, Motor Mechanics, Cobblers, Leather Workers, Metal Workers and Plumbers.
TWAM’s Goal is…
“That the provision of tools will help to motivate and equip vulnerable young men and women with the tools to learn a trade and so give them the opportunity to support themselves and improve their lives”
TWAM’s Target Groups
There are many vulnerable youths who have been excluded from school and are in danger of becoming involved with drug abuse, violence and prostitution. Those living with HIV, those still living in orphanages and those who need help with general life skills.
