The Archbishop of York Dr John Sentamu is encouraging everyone to use the upcoming season of Lent as a time to reflect and refocus their lives through daily reflections available at www.archbishopofyork.org from Ash Wednesday (14 February) to Easter Sunday (1 April).
The Archbishop’s online reflections can be used alongside the Church of England’s #LiveLent booklet and they provide an opportunity to reflect, renew, recharge and refresh faith in Jesus Christ.
The Archbishop said: “In the security of our air-conditioned cars, we close the windows tight and rely on filtered air to cool us. But this is stale air; we need to open the windows and let fresh air come in. Similarly, we need to open the windows of our hearts and minds and let the wind of the Holy Spirit refresh us. Lent is an ideal opportunity to do just that and I hope you will join me in being refreshed in the lives we live day by day!”

#LiveLent - Let Your Light Shine takes you on a six week discipleship journey in 2018 through the Gospel of John, exploring what it means to be a witness. For each day from Ash Wednesday to Easter Day there is a short reading, a pause for reflection and prayer, and an idea for a simple action that will enable the light of Jesus to shine through our everyday lives. The booklet is written by John Kiddle (author of the best-selling #GodWithUs) in association with Thy Kingdom Come, the global prayer movement that invites Christians around the world to pray for more people to come to know Jesus.
