A new song for children to help them think about life as a pilgrimage is released today. Written by Nick and Becky Drake from Songs for School, ‘The Pilgrim Way’ is available now on all major streaming platforms and is part of a set of resources helping schools explore the theme of pilgrimage.
The Pilgrim Way is an invitation for children to step forward on their journey of faith – knowing that Jesus is walking with them each step of the way.
Nick and Becky Drake said, “We’re delighted to share our new song, The Pilgrim Way, with everyone. It’s all about life and the journey of faith, with its highs and lows. It’s about how our story fits within the broader story of God's people who have gone before and those who go ahead of us. We hope The Pilgrim Way inspires children to see their place in this story, and journey on through life knowing God is with them.”
Alongside the easy-to-learn song, a comprehensive free resource pack is now available for schools and churches. The pack includes:

- Singalong video
- Backing track
- Printable lyric sheet
- Sheet music
To ensure the song is as accessible as possible, Makaton and British Sign Language (BSL) video resources are also being made available and will be coming soon.

The Pilgrim Way is part of a range of newly developed materials made available by Faith in the North, which include a collective worship resource called ‘Pilgrim Pathways’, Pilgrim Explorer Cards, and a resource helping children explore the stories and significance of the Northern Saints called ‘Light from the Past, Hope for the Future’.
