Mowbray Deanery runs along the A19, bordered on the west by the Diocesan boundary of the A1, and the North York Moors on the east. The Deanery is predominantly rural, but is also home to the market town of Thirsk (home to James Herriot) and Northallerton, the county town of North Yorkshire.
