SERMON - On Thursday 5 May, The Lord Archbishop of York along with other Clerical and Civic Dignitaries and Honorable Guests gathered at Manchester Cathedral to celebrate the 600th Anniversary of this Collegiate Church.  

Bishopthorpe Palace has been the home of the Archbishops of York for over 750 years.

NEWS - The Revd Dr Jenny Wright, who is presently serving as Associate Priest at Christ Church, Morningside in the Scottish Episcopal Church, has been appointed Chaplain to the Archbishop of York, Stephen Cottrell.  

COMMENT - The Archbishop of York delivers the 25th Archbishop Blanch Memorial Lecture at Liverpool Hope University on 22 November.  

NEWS - Bishop Stephen Geoffrey Cottrell, will today take up the historic Braganza Crozier – his staff of office – in a short ceremony at York Minster, following his Confirmation of Election as the 98th Archbishop of York.  

NEWS - The Archbishop is sharing short reflections throughout January 2021 on the theme, ‘Our Hope is Found’.

NEWS -  Stephen Cottrell and his wife Rebecca today invited children from the Archbishop of York Junior School, team members from Brunswick Organic Nursery, Jo Ropner, HM Lord-Lieutenant of North Yorkshire and Carole Green, a community champion, to plant trees in the grounds of Bishopthorpe Palace.
