Shaping our Present and our Future ~ great response to Safeguarding Week

NEWS - 465 people from parishes and churches between the Tees and the Humber and from the A1 to the Yorkshire Coast have taken part in one or more of 23 online events and an in-person meeting at Bishopthorpe Palace during 'Everyone's Business', the first-ever Safeguarding Week held by the Diocese of York with York Minster from Monday 22nd to Friday 26th November.

Archbishop Plants Trees for the Queen’s Green Canopy

NEWS -  Stephen Cottrell and his wife Rebecca today invited children from the Archbishop of York Junior School, team members from Brunswick Organic Nursery, Jo Ropner, HM Lord-Lieutenant of North Yorkshire and Carole Green, a community champion, to plant trees in the grounds of Bishopthorpe Palace.

Archbishops’ Commission on Reimagining Care proposes set of values to inform vision for care and support in England

NEWS - The Archbishops’ Commission on Reimagining Care has today launched a consultation on a set of values, informed by Christian theology and ethics, that it thinks should underpin a vision for care and support in England. As well as consulting on the proposed values, the Commission is also asking for people’s views of what is good and what is difficult, challenging or missing about care and support currently.
