NEWS - The Missional Youth Church Network today announces the appointment of Angela Brymer and the Revd Ruthi Gibbons as joint Strategic Leads

NEWS - The Venerable Julie Conalty, currently Archdeacon of Tonbridge, will be the next Bishop of Birkenhead, and the Revd Canon Sam Corley, currently Rector of Leeds Minster, will be the next Bishop of Stockport, Downing Street has announced. 

NEWS - The Revd Dr Ian McIntosh, currently Head of Formation in the Church of England’s National Ministry Team, has been appointed as Director of Mission and Ministry in the Diocese of York from September 2021.

NEWS - Alison White has served as Bishop of Hull since her consecration as the Church of England's second female bishop in York Minster on the 3rd July 2015. She is to retire in February 2022.

NEWS - Fifteen women and men including a serving firefighter, current and former teachers, a hospital chaplain, and workers in homeless services will be ordained Deacon by the Archbishop of York, Stephen Cottrell, in a service in York Minster on Saturday 26th June beginning at 4.30pm.

NEWS - 465 people from parishes and churches between the Tees and the Humber and from the A1 to the Yorkshire Coast have taken part in one or more of 23 online events and an in-person meeting at Bishopthorpe Palace during 'Everyone's Business', the first-ever Safeguarding Week held by the Diocese of York with York Minster from Monday 22nd to Friday 26th November.

NEWS - Downing Street today (Oct 8) announced that the new Bishop of Portsmouth will be the Rt Revd Dr Jonathan Frost, who is currently the Dean of York.

NEWS - At today's (Friday 9 July 2021) meeting of the Church of England General Synod, the Archbishop of York announced The Rt. Hon the Lord Boateng as the incoming Chair of the Archbishops' Racial Justice Commission.  

NEWS - More than half of young adults have lost someone close to them over the past year, with this age group most active in helping to comfort the bereaved and organise funerals, according to new research on the impact of the pandemic published today by the Church of England.
