Brunswick Sporting Day at Bishopthorpe

Jenga Competition

Friday 8th August 2014

The Archbishop of York opened the Bishopthorpe Palace Grounds on Tuesday 5th August for the Brunswick Organic Nursery Sports Day event. The Archbishop has been Patron of Brunswick Organic Nursery since 2007.

Sandy Reynard, Palace Manager said: “It was a joy to watch the games and cheer on the individuals. We look forward to welcoming Brunswick for their next sports day”.

Brunswick Organic Nursery and Craft workshop is a local charity that offers a productive workplace with training opportunities and a constructive social environment for individuals with learning difficulties.

Lauren Webb, Deputy Manager at Brunswick said: "We really enjoyed our picnic and it was a wonderful break from our usual work at Brunswick.  The garden games are always popular and the friendly competition to see who wins rounders or the welly wanging is always good fun!  We would like to thank the Archbishop of York for letting us use the grounds for a fabulous summer picnic and afternoon of games".
