The Archbishop of York, Stephen Cottrell today issued a message in support of the Archbishop of Canterbury's statement regarding Archbishop Ndukuba of Nigeria.
I welcome and support the Archbishop of Canterbury’s clear condemnation of the language used by Archbishop Ndukuba in his recent statement. I share his sorrow that LGBTI+ people across the world will feel less safe as a result. My prayer and hope for the LLF process in the Church of England is that we may find a way of living with our God given diversity and be a place of welcome and belonging for everyone, strengthened and encouraged to live Christ’s story together.
