Join York Minster’s worship inside the cathedral or from the comfort of your own home as we celebrate the arrival of Jesus Christ into our world.

Bring a little piece of our Advent and Christmas celebrations into your home with our Christmas Eve service of Nine Lessons and Carols.

Tune in via our YouTube channel for nine special readings, carols sung by the Choir of York Minster and hymns for everyone to join in.

Watch with family and friends, or as an aid to prayer and contemplation.

Christmas Day Services

Monday 25 December

Join York Minster’s worship for Christmas Day in person or online. If you’re joining us from home, you may wish to light a candle in your window as we celebrate the birth of Christ together. 

8am: Holy Communion
A service from the Book of Common Prayer. 

10am: Choral Matins 
A joyous service sung by the Choir of York Minster.

11am: Sung Eucharist
Join our worship with the Archbishop of York, Stephen Cottrell and the Choir of York Minster.

4pm: Choral Evensong
Our worship on Christmas Day ends with a service of Evensong, sung by the Choir of York Minster.
