Every week, the Diocese of York offers a new reflection and prayer resource on video, for personal use or for churches to use in their Sunday worship, whether it’s in your church building or online.

NEWS - A service of Choral Evensong at York Minster on Friday 7 March also marked the start of the Lord’s Prayer Tour across the North of England. 

Archbishop Stephen preached during the service of Evensong on 7 March 2025, which also marked the start of the Lord's Prayer Tour of the north of England.

COMMENT - The Archbishop of York has assured the people and churches of Ukraine of the prayers and solidarity of the Church of England this Lent. 

NEWS - Downing Street has announced today that the Rt Revd Ruth Worsley will become the new suffragan Bishop of Wigan in the Diocese of Liverpool. Bishop Ruth will also serve as the Interim Bishop of Liverpool.

NEWS - The Archbishop of York has today consecrated four new bishops in a service at Canterbury Cathedral. Two will serve the Diocese of Oxford, while one will serve the Diocese of Birmingham and another the Diocese in Europe.

NEWS - ‘The Lord’s Prayer Tour’, in which Archbishop of York Stephen Cottrell will teach about the Lord’s Prayer across the Northern Province of the Church of England, begins in York Minster on Friday 7th March 2025 at a service of Evensong.

Stephen Cottrell has written more than 20 books on subjects of evangelism, spirituality and discipleship as well as books for children.  

York Minster has today announced its programme of services, events and activities to mark Lent, Holy Week and Easter 2025.
